Day 4 of the Vincent International-  Thursday September 14th, 2023

The main scheduled VOC group ride was up north along the coast to Santa Barbara, then east to the town of Slovang to visit the Slovang Museum. Jonathan, Peter, Dan and I decided to skip that ride, and instead ride the reverse route back up through Ojai in search of some roads that showed on the maps as winding east through the mountains.We got up there to find the road closed due to landslides, so reversed course back through Ojai and up the mountain roads to the south. It was a bit foggy in the morning, but cleared out to another beautiful Southern California day! Jonathan's B Rapide had some tappet issues with the gap on the rear intake widening inexplicably several times, so he decided to ride back to the hotel to diagnose the issue before it caused a real problem. The motor is fresh, and has good power and compression, but should not be seeing those kinds of changes in tappet gap.

Dan, Peter and I returned to the hotel by mid afternoon after putting another 100 miles of fine roads on the odometer. Some cleaning and fettleing in the parking lot was followed by a walk down the Ventura Beach Broadwalk to a seaside fish taco stand for dinner. Back to the hotel for an early evening, after another great day.

  Howdy Lone Stars,  Lots of action at the Vincent International in Ventura!  On Tuesday 12th, the group rode from the hotel to see the collection of Daniel Schoenewald then over the mountains to Ojai! Wonderful roads through the orange orchards in the valley then up over the mountains with some spectacular scenery. We came back by a different route including about 15 miles along the 101 at the coast. A great ride of just about 100 miles and everyone made it back safely. I got some video of the group leaving the hotel, riding into see the Schoenewald collection, and riding up over the mountains. Welcome to the Lone Star Vincents

Introduction Howdy all and welcome to the blog of the Lone Star Chapter of the Vincent Owners Club! We will report on the action of the Lone Stars, related to the owning, maintaining and riding these iconic motorcycles.  The initial reports over the next month will cover our attendance at the Vincent Owners Club (VOC) International meet being held in California from September 11th to the 22nd, 2023. This will likely have the biggest collection of Vincent motorcycles ever seen in the USA.  Howdy folks, This one is out of order as it is a ride report that I wrote for our Central Texas Painted Churches ride in March 2023. Check it out! On Saturday March 4 th , a small group of Lone Stars headed south out of La Grange to tour the country roads and see the beautiful painted churches of Central Texas. PERFECT weather- CHECK! Beautiful country roads- CHECK! Wildflowers in bloom- CHECK! Zero traffic- CHECK! Great friends to ride with- CHECK! Or as they might say in this part of Texas- CZECH!   Our ride begins at the Lukas Bakery on the main square of downtown La Grange, across from the county courthouse. This family bakery has been a fixture in La Grange for over 75 years and makes the real-deal kolaches and apple strudel.
